Banom® SteelGard® liners provide the highest level of cut protection from knife blades that we can offer. These liners are knit with two yarns instead of one. This double strand construction provides a fail-safe: if one strand breaks, the second acts as a backup. There are two strands of spiral wrapped stainless steel in each core yarn for a total of four in each glove. SteelGard® gloves are designed for use in food processing operations where sharp blades are present, or in general industry where hands come in contact with sharp edges. These gloves are made entirely of FDA accepted materials required by USDA for food use, and contain AlphaSan® - a permanent anti-microbial that kills bacteria, fungus, mold, and mildew. NOTE: These gloves contain stainless steel, which can make them potentially conductive in an electrical hazard situation.
